EORI stands for Economic Operator Registration and Identification Number. An EORI number is a European Union registration and identification number for businesses which import or export goods into and/or outside the European Union.
Any business or individual established in the E.U. needs to obtain an EORI number from their national customs authority before commencing customs activities in the EU. Businesses outside the E.U. also need an EORI number for trading with the E.U.
The EORI number consists of two parts:
- the country code of the issuing Member State
- followed by a code or number that is unique in the Member State
Before you apply for an EORI number, you must be VAT registered, as you need the VAT number and the effective date of registration fpr your application.
You can find this information on your VAT certificate.
We can obtain the EORI number for you. Our account managers can advise and support you on this matter.
You can check and validate an EORI number in the E.U. online database here.
